Introducing PhD candidate Lena Betge
Lena Betge started her PhD in the section Eating Disorders and Obesity at Maastricht University in September 2024. She will investigate network-informed treatment for complex cases of eating disorders.
Lena holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and recently completed the Research Master in Clinical Psychology at Maastricht University. In her thesis, she investigated the influence of comorbid personality disorders on treatment outcomes for patients with an eating disorder. During her studies, she developed a keen interest in this field and in transdiagnostic research. As part of the NSMD team, her research will focus on mapping and targeting transdiagnostic symptom networks in patients with eating disorders. Lena will explore network-informed treatment strategies for addressing complex cases of these disorders. She has joined the Transdiagnostic Anxiety team and will be working under the supervision of Lotte Lemmens, Anita Jansen, and Lourens Waldorp.
