Introducing Young Talent Marie Deserno
Marie Deserno, assistant professor of clinical psychology at the University of Amsterdam, joined the NSMD consortium as a Young Talent in September 2024.
Marie Deserno studies indicators of day-to-day change in clinical trajectories, and developmental patterns that might be early markers for psychiatric conditions. Her research focuses on the dynamics of cognitive skills across the lifespan and symptom variability during therapy, aiming to enhance understanding of their predictive value.
After earning her PhD at the department of Brain & Cognition and Psychological Methods (University of Amsterdam), she pursued a Rubicon fellowship at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin. In 2021, she returned to Amsterdam as an assistant professor of clinical psychology. She joins NSMD as a Young Talent to work on testing network-informed treatment efficacy in multiple SCEDs.
